TOMS FALLS COTTAGE (circa 1890)
Steeped in history, Toms Falls Cottage is the oldest house on Toms Mountain. Lovingly restored in 2006, the quaint charm of the original homestead has been carefully preserved while 21st century amenities were introduced for your comfort.
The expansive living room with its bead board ceiling and walls features the ambiance of its wood burning fireplace. A second fireplace, located in the kitchen, has been converted from wood to a convenient remote controlled electric log. Central heat and air make life comfortable!
As you make your way up the original rustic stairway to your bedroom you can sense the feeling of days gone by. At the top of the stairs the warmth of the cozy bedroom is evident from the decor of the era.
A narrow passageway leads you to your spacious upstairs garden bath which was originally used as a storage space above the kitchen, accessible only by ladder through a small ceiling "scuttle hole." The attic area, which sat dormant for over 115 years, now features a romantic jacuzzi tub with the backdrop and charm of the old stone chimney.
If part of your stay includes "relaxing" then we suggest you put in some rocking chair time on your front porch listening to the rushing, but tranquil sounds, of Toms Creek passing you and time by. You can see the creek from the porch!
Or, for the more adventurous, "take a hike" up the mountainside, behind the cottage on the 21 secluded acres, or head up the mountain on the roads right in front of the cottage.... you can hike for an hour or pack a lunch and hike all day as you explore teh mountains. Enjoy North Carolina flora and fauna including giant cedars, poplar, mountain laurels, and rhododendrons.

Inches from Hickory Creek, this three bedroom, two bath cottage is large and spacious! Let the sounds of the creek help you relax and lull you to sleep at night.
Master bedroom has king bed and stone fireplace. Private porch off master bedroom, and you can relax in bed and see the creek from the bed through the sliding glass door windows!
High wood ceilings in the living room, diningroom, and kitchen. Wood accents make Hickory Creek feel warm and cozy even though the house is spacious and open. Both bathrooms are all wood (ceilings too) and have tile floors.
Tastefully decorated. Very Clean and comfortable. Hickory Creek is a hybrid. By that, it is a cabin on the inside filled with lots of wood accents, and quaint decorative touches, and the outside is a pristine, cheery, cottage look with yellow, white and gray.
Sleeps 6, (3 bedrooms) but is also a romantic getaway for two.
